Great question! I mainly do 2 things: 1) train small businesses and non-profits to use social media to grow their business and connect with community, through on-demand classes, public workshops, speaking engagements, and 1:1 trainings. 2) I meet with clients (virtually) one on one to discuss marketing strategies, pricing, overcoming blocks to building a successful business, networking, brainstorming products or services, and much more! I also offer mentoring sessions, custom group workshops, purpose filmed trainings for your educational database, and ongoing education classes.

Which format works best for you is typically a function of your learning style. If you like to take lots of notes, pause classes to change something on your site, or want to refer back - virtual, on-demand courses and workbooks will probably work best for you. If you like interaction, asking questions, and learning from other people’s experiences, live workshops are probably best! If you don’t see any live workshops scheduled, ask me to schedule one for you + a friend or an industry group. I can often pull together a small group based on your schedule.

You can find a couple of free mini classes on my Youtube channel, and a larger catalog of classes on Skillshare, which you can access for free using a free trial (typically 14 or 30 days). I’ve also turned many of my classes into written tutorials, which you can find here.

Usually, yes! I often have a free or reduced rate for my live workshops and events, right on the checkout page. If you need a discounted or free social media marketing class, please reach out. If you need free small business consulting or mentoring, please email me more about your business or idea and what you need assistance with - I’ll see if it’s a good fit and if I have space in my schedule.

Social media helps small businesses through free tools that help market your business. Common social media sites include Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn. My clients have the best ROI (return on investment) on Instagram, so many of my courses focus on Instagram as a primary focus of SMM (social media marketing)

I’ve worked with small businesses, non-profits, mutual aid organizations, entrepreneurs and hobbyists. There are several industries I work with over and over (because they benefit so much from social media marketing) - yoga and wellness studios, real estate agents, makers and artists, accountants, and brick and mortart shops. Most businesses and organizations benefit from social media, and if I think I can’t help you, I’ll tell you that! So reach out with any industry specific questions.

There are a lot of consumers who don’t trust a business that doesn’t use social media. Beyond that, social media sites offer super easy ways to share timely information with customers, like open hours, sales, changes, and more.

Social media platforms like Instagram, Facebok, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, Snapchat and Clubhouse can all be useful for businesses and non-profits. However, if you’re just starting out, it’s helpful to focus on one platform. For most of my clients, Instagram is the most effective social media platform, compared to the amount of time and effort needed. Facebook is my 2nd recommended platform, unless you love shooting short videos, in which case TikTok might be a good platform for you.
-
Quite simply, Instagram is where I’ve seen the most growth for my clients, with the least amount of time and effort.

80% of US residents have social media accounts, and 70% of US residents actively use social media. Instagram and Facebook reach around 50% of US residents, and 64% of TikTok users are between 20-59 years old. Basically - many people are not only ON social media, but they use social media to make buying decisions.
-
Social media sites allow for free (and paid) marketing through posts and other tools like stories and videos. While not all businesses have social media marketing plans, the vast majority of businesses can benefits from at least a small social media presence.
